Aaron Eidem - a Good Samaritan in Missouri

Aaron Eidem, age 37, died on February 18, 2016, at a hospital in Springfield, Missouri.
Aaron Eidem

During the early evening hours, Aaron was travelling on a highway near Springfield when he came across a stranded motorist with a flat tire. The motorist needed help to push the vehicle to the shoulder. Aaron got out of his vehicle to help.

A tractor-trailer somehow struck Aaron's parked vehicle, forcing it towards him. Aaron was mortally injured.

He was rushed to a hospital in Springfield where, tragically, he passed away.

As of this date, it is not believed that charges will be laid in connection with this tragic accident.

Aaron was a U.S. Army captain with almost 20 years of service. He had been deployed three times to Iraq. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. He was also an assistant professor of military science at Missouri State University.

Aaron's military comrades are in mourning over the death of their brother. They describe him as a highly respected leader.

Friends stated that Aaron cared about others. He was well-liked and respected by
his students. He would give you the shirt off of his back, if it would help.
Pray for Aaron and for all
who reach out to those in
need. They are the Good
Samaritans.

A funding site has been set up to raise money for organ transplants which was a cause that Aaron supported.

Aaron's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He was loving and was loved in return. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.

Aaron is survived by many loving friends and family members including his parents, his stepmother, his sister and adopted brother, his wife, Amber and his three children.

Thank you for your service to your country, Aaron.

Pray for all who die while coming to the aid of strangers. They are the heroes of the modern era.

We need more men like Aaron in this world.

Pray for Aaron's family who have suffered an unspeakable loss.

Pray that Aaron is in Heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
