Edward Garrett Gottschall and Nalee Yang - killed by alleged Drunk Driver in Florida

Edward Garrett Gottschall, age 29, and Nalee Yang, age 37, of Lakeland, Florida, died on September 5, 2015, on a highway near Plant City, Florida.

Plant City is 25 miles east of Tampa. 

Just after midnight on September 5, 2015, Edward and Nalee were travelling in their vehicle when a series of deadly events unfolded. 

David Thomas Flanagan, age 47, of Zephyrhills, Florida, driving a Hyundai Sonata rear ended a SUV.  The impact forced the SUV into oncoming traffic. The SUV collided with Edward and Nalee's vehicle forcing it off the highway and into a power pole. 

The occupants of the SUV and Thomas Flanagan suffered only minor injuries. 

Tragically both Edward and Nalee died at the scene of the crash. 

David Flanagan is innocent unless proven guilty.

However we offer this advice to all drivers: If you find that you are wasted, drunk or

for Edward and for those who
have lost them.
doped up on street drugs or prescription drugs or if you are falling asleep on your feet, do NOT drive. Call a family member or a friend for a ride; or take a taxi or a bus; or stay where you are until you sober up; or crawl home on your hands and knees. It will be better for you and for the world if you do.

Regret can last a lifetime.

The loved ones of Edward and Nalee are devastated over their senseless and tragic deaths. They will be forever mourned.

Edward and Nalee are survived by many loving friends and family members who will forever miss them.

Pray for all who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye.

God save us from the drunk drivers and the doped up drivers. They are killing us, Father. Amen.

Pray that Edward and Nalee are in heaven. Pray that they are at peace and are with God. Amen.

  1. Thank you for your prayers. I miss my brother and sister in-law everyday. I pray for everyone to just think before you get behind the wheel.
