Eric Chrisman - Kentucky State Police - fatal accident

Trooper Eric Chrisman, age 23, died in the line of duty on June 23, 2015, on a highway near Grand Rivers, Kentucky.

Trooper Chrisman was a member of the Kentucky State Police.  He was assigned to Post 1 in Mayfield. He had 6 months of service. 

Eric was responding to a call regarding a reckless driver just before 6:00 p.m. He was near the Tennessee River Bridge in Livingston County when he failed to negotiate a curve.  He crossed into the path of an oncoming semi trailer and his vehicle was hit on the driver's side. 

Tragically Eric died of his injuries at the scene of the accident. 

The 53 year old driver of the semi was treated at a local hospital and released.


Eric was orginally from Lawrenceburg, Kentucky but was currently living in Eddyville.  He had graduated from the Kentucky State Police Academy in January of 2015.

The Kentucky State Police are in mourning over the death of their young brother. He had a future with the State Police. He will be forever remembered.

Eric's loved ones are devastated over his sudden and tragic death. He did his best. He will be forever mourned.

Eric is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members.

Thank you for your service to Kentucky, Eric.

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.

Pray for all who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and are gone before we can say goodbye.

Pray that Eric is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
