Matthew Walker - U.S. Military

Matthew Walker
Pfc. Matthew H. Walker, age 20, of Hillsboro, Missouri, died on June 5, 2014, in Paktika province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when his unit was attacked by enemy fire.

He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

Matthew had received numerous awards and decorations including the Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with one bronze service star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, and the Air Assault Badge.

Family members are devastated by Matthew's sudden and tragic death. He will be forever mourned.

Thank you for serving, Matthew.

Pray without ceasing unto God for an end to this war in Afghanistan. It is enough. We are sick with grief for men like Matthew. 

Pray for the 20 year old men who are killed in battle. Yesterday, they were just boys.

Pray that Matthew is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
