Jeffrey Newland - Firefighter - Florida

Lieutenant Jeffrey Newland, age 50, of Cape Coral, died on May 1, 2014, at a hospital in Ft. Myers, Florida.
Jeff Newland

Jeffrey was known as Jeff to his family and friends.

Jeff was a member of the North Port Fire Rescue, at North Port, Florida. He had 14 years of service with the Department.

On April 23, 2014, Jeff had completed his shift which had included several emergency response calls.  He went home and about four hours later, he suffered an aneurysm of the aorta.  He was transported to a local hospital and then flown to a hospital in Ft. Myers for specialized treatment.  Sadly, he passed away.

It is believed that this fatal aneurysm may have been brought on by stress and over-

exertion.

Jeff had served in the Navy and Navy Reserves for 20 years.  He began his career with North Port Fire Rescue in January of 2000.  He was promoted to Lieutenant in 2008.  He worked out of Station 82.

Jeff's family are devastated over his passing. He will be forever mourned.

Jeff is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members, including his mother, Jane; his brother, Jim (who is also a Firefighter); his domestic partner, Beverly Ward; his son Clayton (age 6); and his step-son, Colton (age 17).

Thank you for your service in the Navy and for your service as a firefighter, Jeff.

Pray for all who die as a result of doing their job.

Pray that Jeff is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
