Garrett Greene - Firefighter - Maryland

Firefighter Garrett Greene, age 24, died on May 8, 2014, on a street in Bowie, Maryland.

Garrett was a career member of the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service. He had 2 years of service. He worked out of Fire Station No. 25.

Garrett was off duty and was riding his motorcycle at 2 p.m. when he collided with a car which was attempting a left turn at an intersection in Bowie, Maryland. The collision overturned the car which landed on top of Garrett. He died at the scene.

The female driver of the car was extracted from her vehicle and transported to the hospital.

The circumstances of the fatal collision are under investigation.

The Montgomery and Kentland Fire Departments are in mourning over the death of their brother. He will be missed.

Garrett's family are devastated by his sudden and tragic death. He will be forever mourned.

Fire Department officials stated that Garrett was well respected and well liked. He had an aptitude for firefighting.

Friends stated that he was a great person with a big personality. He was known for his beaming smile.

Garrett is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including his young daughter.

Pray for all who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and gone the next.

Pray that Garrett is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
