David Baldwin - Law Enforcement - Colorado

Sergeant David Baldwin died in the line of duty on January 26, 2014, on a highway in Jefferson County, Colorado.

Sgt. Baldwin was a member of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. He had 27 years of service. He was assigned to the Traffic/Motorcycle Unit.

David was on his police motorcycle at about 10:30 a.m. He was struck head-on by another vehicle which had attempted to illegally pass a third vehicle over a double yellow line.

David was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

David was promoted to the rank of sergeant in 1996, and worked various assignments in the Detentions Division, Civil & Fugitive Unit, Bomb Squad, Patrol Division, and most recently with the Traffic/Motorcycle Unit.

instructor for the Basic and Advanced Law Enforcement Motorcycle School. 

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is in mourning over the death of their brother.  

Friends and comrades describe David as an excellent motorcyclist, as friendly and welcoming, as a positive influence in law enforcement, and as an honorable man. 

David is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members including his wife and his son.
