Omar Forde - U.S. Military

Sgt. 1st Class Omar W. Forde, age 28, of Marietta, Georgia, died on December 17, 2013, in Now Bahar, Afghanistan.

Omar was in a helicopter which crashed. Six U.S. soldiers died in this tragedy. The incident is under investigation. The helicopter crashed and then was attacked by enemy insurgents.

Omar was assigned to Headquarters Company, 1st Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kansas.

Omar was from Marietta. Omar attended Kennesaw Mountain High School, where he played football. He graduated in 2004.

Friends there describe him as a team player and a role model for his teammates.
He was a classy dude.  He was also fun to be around.
Jesus, pray for Omar

Omar is survived by many loving friends and relatives, including his mother, Mitzi; his wife, Megan and two children - 5 months old and 17 months old.

Thank you for serving, Omar.

Pray without ceasing unto God for an end to this war in Afghanistan. It is enough. We are sick with grief for men like Omar. He would not have died in a helicopter accident in Afghanistan if there was no war in Afghanistan. God give us peace.

Pray that Omar is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
