Julie Newton - a victim of Impaired Driving in California

Julie Newton, age 55, of Elk Grove, California, died on November 27, 2013, on a street near Mont View Park, Fair Oaks, California.

At about noon Julie was walking with her father, when a vehicle veered across an oncoming traffic lane striking her. The car went down an embankment and struck a tree. Her father was unhurt.

Julie was transported to a hospital in Carmichael, where she succumbed to her injuries.

Gary Brian Wickey, age 53, of Fair Oaks, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of prescription drugs.

Julie's family are deeply grieving her loss. Their hearts are broken.

Julie is described as an upbeat and fun-loving woman who got along well with everyone.

She worked at Trader Joe's in Elk Grove, where she was loved by her coworkers and customers.

She loved to travel with her husband, Gordon.

Julie regularly took her father out for walks. He is suffering from Alzheimer's disease.
Light a candle for Julie.  Light
her way to Heaven.

It is immaterial if a driver is plastered from alcohol, street drugs or prescription drugs. Impaired driving, from whatever source, is a danger to the public and is illegal.

Julie is survived by many loving friends and relatives including her husband, Gordon.

Pray for all who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and gone the next.

God save us from the drunk and doped up drivers. They are killing us, Father. Amen.

Pray that Julie is in heaven. Pray that she is at peace and is with God. Amen.
