Jeff Little - Firefighter - Georgia

Lt. Jeff Litle, age 50, died in the line of duty on December 15, 2013, in Waycross, Georgia.

Jeff was a member of the Waycross Fire Department. He had 12 years of service with that Department. He had served as a Captain with the Childersburg Fire Department in Alabama for 17 years.

A vacant house was reported on fire at about 12:20 a.m. The house had been vacant for 10 years.

Jeff was battling the blaze when the roof collapsed, fatally injuring him. He was transported to a local medical center where he tragically passed away.

The fire is believed to be caused by arson and if found, the arsonist will be charged with murder in the death of Lt. Jeff Little.

Jeff graduated from Sylacauga High School in Alabama in 1981. He began his career with the Childersburg Fire & Rescue as a Fire-Paramedic. Jeff's wife, Diane, accepted a nursing transfer to Waycross Georgia in 2001 and Jeff then began his career with the Waycross Fire Department.

Jeff's comrades are in mourning over his death. He is described as a great fireman and paramedic who also had a sense of humor.

Jeff's family are in shock over his sudden passing. He is their hero and will be forever missed.

Jeff is survived by many loving comrades, friends and family members, including his parents, Paul and Mary Little; his brothers Andy and James Little; his wife, Diane; and his son, David Little.

Pray for all who die in the line of duty.

Pray for all who die by misadventure. They are with us one moment and gone the next.

God save us from the Arsonists who bring death to the innocent. Amen.

Pray that Jeff is in heaven. Pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
