Chelsea Ann Small - Store Clerk murdered in Taylor, Michigan

Chelsea Ann Small, age 30, of Gibraltar, Michigan, died on November 12, 2013, at an Advance America Check Store, in Taylor, Michigan.

She was shot several times, and killed by an assailant just after noon of that day. She died on the job site.

It is unknown if Chelsea knew her assailant. It is believed that she was killed during a robbery attempt. She had managed to press the "hold-up" alarm to notify Police of trouble.


The assailant fled the scene with a small amount of cash. The suspect is described as a white male around 35 to 50 years old. He is stocky and has dark bushy full hair. He was last seen wearing a blue waist-length jacket, a white undershirt, black pants and light colored shoes. His baseball cap is dark with an emblem on the front and left side.

Chelsea graduated from Carlson High School in 2002.

She had only worked at the check cashing store for a few months. She was a single mother of two young children. She was trying to support her kids.

Friends said that she was a sweet woman, who always said hi to people in the neighborhood of her job.


Chelsea is survived by many loving friends and relatives including her daughter, Josalynn (age 8) and her son, Logan (age 5).

Pray for justice for Chelsea.

God save us from the thieves. They are killing us, Father. Amen.

Pray that Chelsea is in heaven. Pray that she is at peace and is with God. Amen.
