He was involved with training local Afghan policemen, when a man dressed in a police uniform gunned him down from a watchtower.

Craig was a member of the 1st Battalion The Welsh Guards. He was born in Cardiff and was living in Pontyclun in Wales. He joined the Welsh Guards in September of 2009.
Military officials describe Craig as a rising star, who was brave, honest and loyal.
Family members stated that they will miss his big smile and his sense of humour. They are devastated by his loss.
Craig is survived by many loving friends and relatives, including his parents Mike and Sadie; his sisters, Katie and Lucinda Emily; step-brother, Jay; and his girlfriend, Zoe.
Let us pray that Craig Roderick is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.
