Angelo Crapsey - a victim of Post Traumatic Stress - 147 years ago

In 1861, 18-year-old Angelo Crapsey enlisted in the Union Army. His commanding officer called him the “ideal of a youthful patriot.”
Angelo in 1861 - Pray that he is with God

In letters sent over the course of two years, Angelo's attitude toward the Civil War darkened after he experienced combat and witnessed the deaths of countless soldiers, including several by suicide.

By 1863, Angelo was hospitalized, feverish and delirious; eventually he was sent home to Roulette, Pennsylvania. Becoming paranoid and violent, he killed himself in 1864 at age 21.

His father John stated, “If ever a man’s mental disorder was caused by hardships endured in the service of his country, this was the case with my son.”

After the Civil War, over half of the patients in mental institutions were veterans.

Let us pray to God the Father, Jesus, all of the saints and all of the angels that Angelo Crapsey is in heaven. Let us pray that he is at peace and is with God. Amen.

Bowe Bergdahl - the Forgotten Soldier

Bowe Bergdahl, age 25, is the only known U.S. soldier currently held by the Taliban in Afghanistan.

He has been imprisoned for over 2 years.  He has converted to Islam and adopted the Muslim name Abdullah, according to his captors. But he appeared without a beard in the latest footage and is seen with a quite significant wound on his left cheek.

The serviceman is looking thin but otherwise healthy alongside Taliban commander Maulawi Sangin who has previously threatened to kill him. It remains unclear how when the video was shot or where he is being held.

Pte Bergdahl disappeared in June 2009 while on duty in the eastern part of the country when he was aged 23 and is thought to be the only U.S. soldier in captivity.

Bowe Bergdahl's father is pleading to the Taliban to release his son.  Every man who has a son, understands this plea.  Send him home to his family, as you would wish your son to be sent home to your family.
wounded face

Let us pray to God the Father of us all that this young man is returned alive to his family.

We beg the Taliban for mercy for this young man and that they return him to his family unharmed, as they would wish their own children returned to them, unharmed.

In the Hadith, (the Sayings of Muhammad), it is said "Allah's Apostle said, 'Allah will not be merciful to those who are not merciful to mankind.'" - Sahih Bukhari, Volume 9, Book 93, Number 473

The End of the World - May 21, 2011 - Nonsense

According to American evangelical broadcaster Harold Camping, the “rapture” — or “judgment day” or “doomsday” — was set to take place at 6 p.m. local time on May 21, 2011.

Harold Camping
Bill-boards have sprung up all over the USA and Canada and in Russia and everywhere else, announcing this event.

Camping had said "the good" would be transported to heaven, while the rest of mankind would suffer through months of agony here on Earth. This man and his followers actually believe this shit. And they spent millions on bill-board advertising. It would have been better if they had spent this money on feeding the poor.

This is all rubbish. Harold Camping is 89 years old. What is true is that he will go to God soon - of natural old age.

Jesus, pray that we are
saved from your extremist followers.
Pray for us, Jesus.
What is also true is that he will NOT take mankind and our planet with him. He seems to think that if he goes, we all go.  This is total rubbish.
Light a candle for understanding -
Light a candle for the
confused and for the lost.

When Harold Camping dies, he will stand alone before God as we all do.

God the Father, save us from the doom-sayers.

Save us from the False Prophets.

Jesus, Mary and Joseph and all angels and all saints, pray that we are saved from the Christian religious extremists who every decade predict our doom and when it doesn't happen, relentlessly predict it again, in the next decade.

Now this man has predicted that the end of the world will occur on October 21, 2011.  If it didn't come to pass in 1994 or on May 21, 2011, let's try for October, 2011.

Jesus, Mary and Joseph pray that we are saved from these wing nuts. God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son for the salvation of mankind and yet these people think that God is itching to destroy the world now.  I doubt it.

God help us.  God save us from these "end of times" extremist nut-bars. Hear us, Father.
